What do we associate with summer? Ice creams and sunshine, right? Sand between our toes and maybe a cocktail in our hand. Oh – and chiropractic care.

Okay, maybe not! Chiropractic care definitely isn't the first thing which comes to mind, but I'd argue that it should be up there. Lots of the benefits of chiropractic are perfect for maintaining a healthy body during the summer months. After all, there's no point putting in all that work for your perfect beach body if you don't look after it.

You may only think of your chiropractor as someone to help treat those pesky neck or back pains which occasionally crop up, and of course that is part of their job. One of the main goals of chiropractic is to ensure that the spine is properly aligned. This is not only important for pain relief but releasing tension and pressure throughout the body.

This is beneficial all year round, but especially in summer when we are much more active. If aches and twinges are making you think twice about taking a plunge in the sea then it might be time to pay a visit to your chiropractor.

Misalignments associated with the nervous system can affect out mood and our emotional health but can be treated with chiropractic care.
